چکیده
This study evaluated the differences in vitamin D3 synthesis two different latitudes throughout 1 year using an vitro model, which simulates cutaneous D photoproduction. Borosilicate ampoules containing 7-dehydrocholesterol (7-DHC) were exposed to sunlight hourly daylight hours, day per month for a year, Fortaleza (latitude 03° 43′ 01" S—LAT3° S) and Sao Paulo 23° 32′ 53" S—LAT23° S). Later, photoisomers of 7-DHC (tachysterol lumisterol) measured by high-performance liquid chromatography system (HPLC). Vitamin weighted UV radiation (UVBVitD) solar zenith angle (SZA) calculated during same periods both latitudes. occurred locations, as expected lower than 35°. Median photoconversion through was higher LAT3°S [median (IQR): LAT 3°S 4.1% (6.0); 23°S 2.9% (4.5); p value = 0.020]. production strongly correlated with UV-B (LAT3° S, r 0.917; < 0.0001 at LAT23° 0.879; 0.0001) SZA − 0.924; LAT23°S, 0.808; 0.0001). starts later especially winter. Lowest percentages observed June cities, although, compared LAT3° S conversion over 50% winter period. Cloudiness impaired photoproduction even summer months Our results provide data help guide medical recommendations sensible sun exposure promote latitudes, seasonality, time cloudiness status Brazil.

Solar UV Doses of Young Americans and Vitamin D3 Production
BACKGROUND Sunlight contains ultraviolet B (UVB) radiation (290-315 nm) that affects human health in both detrimental (skin cancers) and beneficial (vitamin D3) ways. Serum 25-hydroxyvitamin D concentrations from young Americans (≤ 19 years) show that many have deficient (< 50 nmol/L, 20 ng/mL) or insufficient (< 75 nmol/L, 30 ng/mL) vitamin D levels, indicating that they are not getting enough...
متن کاملUtilising shade to optimize UV exposure for vitamin D
Numerous studies have stated that humans need to utilise full sun radiation, at certain times of the day, to assist the body in synthesising the required levels of vitamin D3. The time needed to be spent in the full sun depends on a number of factors, for example, age, skin type, latitude, solar zenith angle. Current Australian guidelines suggest exposure to approximately 1/6 to 1/3 of a minimu...

15 صفحه اولVitamin D effective ultraviolet wavelengths due to scattering in shade.
Solar UVB radiation (280-320 nm) is an initiator of Vitamin D3 production in the human skin. While numerous studies have been conducted in relation to the biological impact of UV exposure in full sun, less research has investigated the irradiances in shade. The purpose of this study was to determine the levels of UV radiation in relation to Vitamin D3 induction with six commonly encountered sha...
